Pedro Duro is a Partner in the Litigation and Arbitration, Criminal, Administrative Offences and Compliance practices. With more than two decades of experience, his practice focuses on sanctions frameworks in a wide range of sectors, both from a preventive perspective (regulation and compliance) as well as in a procedural context, in the relationship with administrative bodies, courts or other entities, public or private, national or international, with inspective functions or disciplinary powers. Over the years, he has also been involved in an increasing number of internal investigations.
In addition to his practice as a lawyer and a brief period teaching Criminal Law at the University of Lisbon School of Law, he was also jurist at the Portuguese Securities Market Commission, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Justice Legal Policy and Planning Office and Inspector General of the General Inspectorate for the Agriculture, Sea, Environment and Territorial Planning. He was a member of the board of directors of Fórum Penal and currently sits on the High Council (the highest body of the Bar Association).
